This machine is designed to calibrate slabs of granite.
Calibrating is performed by means of diamond calibrating wheels set on separate spindle groups.
The rotating element is powered separately from the grinding wheels and can be regulated by the operator. Each head is equipped with 8 wheels, 200 mm
in diameter.
The up and down movements are controlled by an encoder. The height is shown on a display on the side of the machine.
All the wheel heads are housed at the centre of a sturdy steel beam which runs along cast iron supports by means of oil bath-lubricated steel rollers
protected by stainless steel labyrinth seal. The beam moves thanks to a motor reduction unit controlled by an inverter for regulation of the speed and
accelerations. The motor reduction unit is equipped with a rack and pinion system with sloping teeth treated thermally so as to ensure a longer life.
An automatic device reads the thickness and triggers an alarm if the slab is too thick.
The material is carried by a belt which runs over a bench with a ground surface.
The belt is powered by a motorised roller with a motor reduction unit controlled by an inverter.
The slab is held in position by pressers roller and the processing residues are removed at the end of the machine run by means of a washing unit.
