This machine is designed for cutting marble blocks into strips by means of a series of one to five vertical discs and one horizontal disc.

Machine specifications:

The machine is composed of two vertical columns joined by a very sturdy support beam so as to ensure the stability of the structure.

The movement of the bridge up and down the columns is by means of two carriages with bronze sliders which run along two ground and rectified channels. These channels are made in the columns and are covered by a special wear-resistant tempered steel belt which guarantees the machine’s accuracy over time.

The main bridge which runs along the columns is made up of a special steel beam with a very thick closed section which houses special roller runners. These work in an oil bath and have airtight seals. Cutting accuracy is guaranteed thanks to the way in which the runners are connected to the columns.

Both cutting and the movement of the block carriage are programmed and controlled by a PLC which ensures maximum accuracy throughout the machine run.

The block carriage is a sturdy steel structure which moves on special double steel wheels assembled on roller bearings.

The wheels are flat/prismatic for their accurate movement under the machine along flat/prismatic rails and bars for their movement outside the cutting area.

The carriage is powered by a self-braking motor with a gear reduction unit which caters for the micrometric movements in the cutting area and other movements for the loading and unloading of the blocks.

The accuracy of the carriage movements is guaranteed by a special encoder which is an integral part of the rails and is connected to the mobile carriage by means of a steel cable. The dimensions of the block carriage are 330 cm (length of the block) by 230 cm (width of the block).
